'Pappu Can’t Dance Saala' reminds me of my struggling days: Neha Dhupia

Neha Dhupia is gearing up for the release of her movie ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’ this Friday. The actress, who plays the role of a backup dancer, said that the movie reminded her of her struggling days.
“I started my career with a beauty pageant but not many people know that the first fashion show I attended was by helping models with their shoes backstage. So now each time I walk the ramp at a fashion show I am reminded of it,” Neha said to PTI.
Neha said that she learnt a lot by observing backup dancers on sets of her movies.
“I observed the backup dancers on the sets and their ambition, dedication and attitude towards their profession reminded me of my initial days of struggle. The struggle hasn’t ended though. Every actor first struggles to achieve a certain position and then to maintain it,” she said.
The actress who began her career with bold roles in movies like ‘Julie’ has moved to commercial and more meaningful cinema. But the actress said that she never planned on how to establish herself in the industry.
“I have never planned my career. I did films only on the basis of scripts. If the script is promising and have the ability to entertain, I take it up. Rest depends upon the director as I am such an actress who shuts up and listens to her director,” she said.
The movie ‘Pappu Can’t Dance Saala’ features Vinay Pathak in the lead role. The romantic comedy is directed by Saurabh Shukla.
