For Shiney, GHOST is indeed an important film since it not just arrives more than three years after he was last seen on screen (HIJACK), it also brings him into the scheme of things for Bollywood ever since he went through his problems with law. Though one may have reservations around the choice of his comeback affair, for Shiney it was still a worthy enough trip to do GHOST since he was in oblivion for way too long. However unfortunately for him there is a further delay in his comeback plans since the film has now been postponed.
"The film was earlier planned to arrive on the coming Friday. However all of a sudden the makers (producer Bharat Shah and director Puja Jatinder Bedi) now feel that the film should arrive a month later. They have fixed 13th January as the D-Day for GHOST to arrive," says an industry source.
There is more trouble in paradise since his co-star Sayali Bhagat hasn't been in news for good reasons either. Ever since the scandal emerged around her alleged accusations at some of the top B-town celebrities and her quite retraction thereafter, the ex-Miss India is inundated with related queries. Guess it was only in everyone's best interest to keep the film away for a while before things settled down.
CHECK OUT: Shiney-Sayali's GHOST to release on December 16th
Meanwhile the makers are claiming that the film was postponed since they were getting a better date in the form of Friday, the 13th (of January), a day which is associated with evil and horror. Hence going by the film's genre, this was the most appropriate arrival timing.
"Even if the film now arrives in January, it would prove to be an expensive affair for the makers since the film's promos are currently on air and to sustain it for another one month would definitely incur added costs," says a trade expert, "Moreover there are half a dozen other films, led by Tusshar Kapoor's CHAAR DIN KI CHANDNI and Prateik's EK DEEWANA THA already scheduled for the same day. It would indeed be some competition ahead for Shiney's GHOST."
