Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma's visit to Taj Mahal hotel along with the then CM Vilasrao Deshmukh and actor-son Ritesh Deshmukh soon after 26/11 terror attacks so as to study the incident and make a film on the same is no more a speculation. As it has turned into a reality now. Well the ever-experimenting filmmaker has announced that he is making a film on 26/11 attacks.
RGV declared on his social networking page, 'I am making a film on the attacks of 26/11. 26/11 is one of the dates which no Indian will ever forget. The three days 24/7 live telecast of the terrorist carnage had people's eyes glued to the TV sets across the world.
Every one more or less has seen on TV or heard of what happened during that time. But my attempt now would be not only to capture on film the physical aspect but also the behind the scenes aspect of what exactly happened from the time Kasab and rest of the team landed on Amar Singh Solanki's trawler in the high seas, till Kasab's heroic capture by the late Tukaram Ombale at Girgaum chowpatty. This will be intercut with what the various gallant police officers did in their attempt to get the situation under control.''
CHECK OUT: Ramu- My film is anything but a love story
For making this grand film, Ramu would be assisted by ''Kasab the face of 26/11' author. 'I am being assisted by Rommel Rodrigues, author of 'Kasab the face of 26/11'', who has an extensive and encyclopedic knowledge of the event but my film is not based on his book,' RGV tweeted.
Though Ramu is known for underworld crime and horror films, as per him this would be the most challenging film of his career.
''The film is being made for both the International and Indian audiences. It will have a cast of completely new actors to create a heightened sense of reality. After my tryst with the so called underworld films I would consider this film as the greatest challenge of my career,'' says Ramu.
So get ready to witness the terror attacks of 26/11 yet again from Ramu's point of view!
